Valentines Pt. II

Hello Gorgeous Girls!
I'm feeling really bleh today. I did a cutesy valentines mani - its so cutesy I think I'm gonna barf. In all honestly i'm trying to cheer myself up and get in the valentines spirit - which for my own reasons is really hard right now but ANYWAY.

This is what I did:

For starters - what the HELL causes those damn bubbles?
Also that bright pink is UV reactive. Its one of the stargazer nail art pens. The dark purple has silver glitter though it which refused to show up under any lighting conditions. The pale purple is a franken I made - 4 nail polishes and some mineral eyeshadow. It didn't turn out quite how I wanted but it's still pretty.

Also - I have a formspring.me! (the widget is on the left sidebar) so ask me some mad questions!

What do you think ladies? Are you boycotting valentines or looking forwards to it?

Love,
Photobucket

I think it turned out very well. Bubbles can be caused by: fans, wind, humidity, and chemicals in different polishes that like each other.

Chris and I don't celebrate Vday. We are sure to adore each other everyday and give love you gifts randomly throughout life. So it's just a bit silly for us to make a big huff once a year.

I totally agree with you. My partner totally boycotts it. I think if you need a "special" day to celebrate your relationship - your relationship sucks.

Oh and thanks! I just realised where I sit to do my nails is right underneath my air-conditioning vent! Why can't summer be over!? :( It's ruining my nails!

That is a great manicure! We can trade places, you can be knee deep in snow and I can be in a sunny place :)

I wish! Haha I LOVE snow!

Ok it weirds me out that its summer there and cold as eff here. Thats just so strange to me. The bubbles may also be from mineral pigment. A couple of my mineral frankens did the same thing. Its such a cute mani though.

Ange-Marie - one of mine did that with the mineral pigment but lately it has been happening with all my polishes so I think it's the top coat I've been using or something.

Haha yeah - damn southern hemisphere! With our crazy time-zones and backwards weather. :P

what a cute mani :) i myself don't like to celebrate vday. mostly because it's staring me in the face for about 2 months since i work retail. and i don't see the point in uber expensive roses and waiting hours for a table at a restaurant that we can go to any other night of the week! but i'll probably do some sort of mani cuz it's fun :)

Nirfreak03 - any inspiration is good!

Okay, I admit it, my relationship sucks. That's why I needed something special for Vday just to see that something is left to work on. And that's also why I'm doing nail art, as therapy and as distraction. I did this mani way before I read this post. I can't get over how similar our concept was. But yours is hands-down more involved, more complicated, more colorful, and way more beautiful. Your purple franken is lovely!

Haha I totally love your use of nail art as "therapy and distraction" - i'm 100% the same!

Your idea is lovely - yes they are similar! I cheated and used diamante hearts - trying to do straight lines was trouble enough for me!
